Paul Scarpetta is a Partner in the New York office. Paul provides strategic communications counsel for mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, spin-offs, IPOs, proxy fights, management changes, regulatory matters, recapitalizations, and private equity transactions.

Recent projects include advising TD Bank Group on its acquisition of First Horizon Corp.; Cigna on investor relations; Kyndryl on its spin-off from IBM; Oatly on investor relations; Toll Brothers on investor relations; Alleghany Corp on investor relations; the Board of Hudson's Bay Company on a take-private proposal; OneMain Financial on investor relations; Ameriprise Financial on its investor day and corporate positioning; TCF Financial on litigation with the CFPB and on its merger with Chemical Financial; Navient Corporation on activist defense; Wyndham Worldwide on its spin-off of its hotel business; the Independent Directors of Wells Fargo on the sales practice crisis and related matters; Axa SA on its announced partial IPO of its US business; AllianceBernstein on a CEO transition; and Chubb Corporation on its acquisition by ACE Limited.

Earlier in his career, Paul was a Managing Director at Iridian Asset Management, an institutional money manager with $10 billion in assets under management, covering the financial services sector. Prior to that, he was an analyst at Ruane Cunniff & Company, an institutional money manager with $14 billion in assets under management.

Previously, Paul held a number of positions at Freddie Mac, including Vice President of Financial Planning and Shareholder Relations.

Paul holds a BS from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Northwestern University.
