Karen Boykin-Towns

Senior Counselor, New York

Karen is an accomplished strategic communications executive and counselor with deep experience working in complex business and government environments across a range of issues including public affairs, healthcare, diversity, crises and environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters.

During a 22-year career with Pfizer, Karen held leadership roles in government relations, public affairs, global policy and human resources, including having served as Vice President Corporate Affairs for the company’s $34 billion Innovative Medicines business, Pfizer’s first ever Chief Diversity Officer and a member of the company’s Senior Leadership Committee. She was also previously Legislative Director and Chief of Staff to New York State Senator David Paterson, who later became the 55th Governor of New York.

Karen is the Vice Chairman of the NAACP National Board of Directors, a member of the Brewster Academy Board of Trustees and was past Co-Chair of the Business Council of New York State.

Karen holds an MBA from Baruch College (CUNY) and received a BA from The College of Mount Saint Vincent.
