After brief stints at AT&T and Ogilvy & Mather, Drew joined predecessor firm Sard Verbinnen shortly after its founding, so the vast majority of his nearly 30 years in communications has been spent learning from the ground up and and advising clients in virtually all aspects of our business.

Life Beyond FGS Global

Although his upbringing was bi-coastal (US), Drew is a proud New Jersian who loves spending time with his family and doing anything on, in or under the ocean.

Drew Brown is a Partner in the New York office. Since joining predecessor firm Sard Verbinnen shortly after its founding, Drew has worked on a wide variety of communications programs to help build corporate identities, articulate and support investment theses, announce complex transactions, and support clients as they manage high-stakes crisis situations.

He has deep expertise across all industries and disciplines, but has particular strengths in the insurance and reinsurance, financial services and consumer goods/agriculture sectors, and in financial communications and investor relations.

Drew has worked with long-time client MetLife on significant regulatory matters, including advocacy against its SIFI designation, as well as multiple transactions, advised XL on several transactions and its sale to AXA, worked with PartnerRe on a range of matters from its inception in 1993 through is sale to EXOR, represented several US life companies in their sale to Japanese insurers, and continues to regularly advise Lincoln Financial, Progressive Insurance and Ameriprise, among others.

Earlier in his career he worked with Hewlett Packard on its acquisition of Compaq and spin into two leading technology companies, and continues to advise HPE on a range of issues. He also has worked on significant assignments with consumer goods companies Molson Coors and WhiteWave, and actively advises Bunge.

Notable assignments in sports include advising an investor group on their acquisition of the Philadelphia 76ers, the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys on the launch of Legends Hospitality Management, and the New York Jets' in a lawsuit against Cablevision in connection with its bid to build a Stadium in Manhattan.

At the outset of his career, Drew worked in an innovative digital interactive group at Ogilvy & Mather, and at AT&T in business sales and regulatory analysis.

Drew holds a B.A. degree in history from Yale University, where he played varsity football.
