Amb. Miriam Sapiro

Vice Chair, SVC Public Affairs, WASHINGTON, D.C.

Miriam focuses on public affairs and strategic communications with respect to cross-border transactions, litigation and regulatory issues, drawing on more than 25 years of experience in government and the private sector. Miriam has helped to navigate high-stakes crises and provided strategic advice to companies and organizations on a range of U.S. and international policy and regulatory challenges.

Engagements and prior roles include:

  • Assisting Qualcomm in its defense against a hostile takeover by Broadcom
  • Advising companies on U.S. trade and investment policies, including trade negotiations, tariff exemptions and intellectual property litigation
  • Serving as Deputy U.S. Trade Representative and Acting U.S. Trade Representative under President Obama, as well as at the State Department and the National Security Council under Presidents Reagan, Bush and Clinton.

Miriam serves on the Supervisory Board of the Lufthansa Group, the Board of Project HOPE, the Panel of Conciliators of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes at the World Bank and the Department of State’s Advisory Committee on Cyber and International Communications and Information Policy.

Miriam received a B.A. from Williams College and a J.D. from NYU School of Law, and was a Rotary Fellow at St. Antony’s College, Oxford University.
