TJ Tatum is a Vice President in the Washington, D.C. office.
Prior to joining SVC, TJ worked as an Associate Director at Finsbury, a strategic communications firm in New York, where he provided strategic communications counsel on public affairs, crisis and issue management, proactive corporate reputation initiatives and stakeholder engagement programs for clients across a range of industries including automotive, food retail, construction, energy, healthcare and industrial automation. He also provided strategic communications support on a variety of complex transactions and special situations, including:
- McDermott International’s $6 billion combination with CB&I
- Appvion’s Chapter 11 filing and subsequent 363 sale process
Before his career in strategic communications, TJ served as the Deputy Director of Communications for House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, where he managed the day-to-day operations of the communications team, oversaw media strategy and advised the Whip on coalition building and issue advocacy to further the House agenda. He has also worked for Congressmen from Florida and Texas, where he developed and implemented policy and communications strategy on issues such as energy, trade and financial services. TJ has over a decade of government and political experience, and has worked on a number of senate and congressional campaigns across the country.
TJ earned his B.A. degree in Political Science from Boston College.
