RICHARD COYLE

Rich Coyle is a Principal who joined the firm after holding executive communications positions at Nielsen Media Research, Cognizant Corporation (a Dun & Bradstreet spin off) and IBM.

Since joining Sard Verbinnen & Co, Mr. Coyle has helped clients manage a wide range of situations, including corporate reorganizations and executive changes, earnings announcements and restatements, executive suite changes, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory actions, asset sales and product recalls. He also has worked on long term corporate branding and positioning projects, and on litigation support.

In his work as a corporate communicator, Mr. Coyle was responsible for financial, product development and issue management communications (Nielsen Media Research) and corporate positioning and shareholder communications (Cognizant Corporation). During his 20-year IBM career, Mr. Coyle managed corporate communications programs covering the areas of human resources/industrial relations, environmental programs, employee health and safety, and shareholder communications. He also worked for four years at IBM’s Asia/Pacific headquarters in Tokyo were he was responsible for internal, external and executive communications programs across the region.

Mr. Coyle received a bachelor’s degree in history from Trinity College, and a master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University. He also served as a communications officer in the U.S. Navy.
